Sliding into First Base

While it's tough to draw many parallels between self-hosting and baseball, hear me out on this one. If you finally make contact with the baseball but you're not a good runner... You won't look nearly as foolish sliding headfirst into first base - if you make it, then nice work... you made it!

Similarly, if you have a tough time self-hosting anything and are able to get things up and running even by dumb luck... No one will ridicule you if they see you got something up and running because of brute force attempts. You won't lose much by looking like a fool while having fun - if it works, it works!

I grew up watching Nick Punto for the Minnesota Twins slide headfirst into first base and sometimes get called safe. Everybody cheered extra loud when he did - so I'm hoping I can have a similar experience here!

This site is my attempt at a creative outlet that also teaches me some technical skills revolving around self-hosting web services, NixOS, and content creation. All-around, it will be an irregular and infrequent side project for my other engineering, programming, and innumerable other side projects. A side project for the side projects, I guess..?

It's going to be a fun ride, so settle in and maybe you'll experience a rare double or triple! Just don't hold your breath for a home run!
